There is something rewarding when planning special events and fundraisers. Seeing how everything comes together, guests having a good time and on occasion, raising money for a good cause.
My experience planning events includes development, planning and coordinating, execution and follow through. I have been involved with and created several types of events including fundraisers, special events to drive revenues, partner events with publications and holiday activities.
Fundraising Events
There are two annual charity events (one for The Annual BBQ for Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek and Crescent Spring/Fall Celebration for Rosewood Crescent Hotel) that we developed from a concept to successful events. My involvement from the beginning included:
- Creation of the name and logo
- Develop promotional materials and event program
- Securing sponsors
- Solicit and collect auction items
- Coordinated responsibilities with charities, partners and committee members
- Organized volunteers
- Managed the events
- Raised over $40,000 for charity per event
Holiday Activities
The holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year. At Rosewood Crescent Hotel, for 16 years I promoted, coordinated and expanded holiday events such as Breakfast with Santa and Gingerbread Classes to produce over $45,000 in revenue.
Every year, I organized and planned the holiday calendar, coordinated needs with other departments, oversaw reservations and collected payments. Additional events included:
- Scheduling local school choirs to perform in the lobby to provide a festive atmosphere
- Coordinate with The Spa to create holiday promotions and offers to include in the campaign
- Work with team to create New Year’s Eve packages and Gala information
The calendar of events was promoted with a holiday brochure distributed to local residents and businesses, mailed to past guests, email, social media, website and through partners and media.

Partner Events
I worked with media partners to developed launch parties, bridal shows and client appreciation events.
Events included:
- D Weddings launch party
- Bridal Event featuring Preston Bailey with Modern Luxury Brides
- Recognition of top professionals in their industry recognized by D Magazine or Texas Monthly
Special Events
At Capella Pedregal, I was part of the team coordinating the four-day Annual Food and Wine Festival from promoting the event to coordinating chef information.
Rosewood Crescent Hotel hosted an Annual Christmas in July client event to promote holiday bookings.
Member Events
On a monthly basis, I worked with membership and food and beverage teams to create and promote culinary events and member activities such as wine dinners, holiday brunches and guest speakers.
Media Visits
I coordinated incoming media visits and booked and handled high-profile international groups and VIPs including celebrity guests.
