For over 20 years I have been writing and implementing marketing plans and budgets, including SMART action plans. The marketing plans have included strategies for each market segment and how to drive revenues for rooms, food and beverage, spa treatments and memberships. While putting together the plans, I have worked with different departments to develop goals and new initiatives.
Along with the marketing plan, I have completed the expense budget for sales and marketing and been responsible for staying under budget. Each month I review the departmental expenses to ensure accuracy and work with accounting to make necessary adjustments.
Most recently, I have worked on crisis management strategies. When Hurricane Odile hit Cabo San Lucas in September, the area and the resort were impacted. With power and phone lines down, the Dallas office became the way to communicate with guests, families and management. We had to put together a plan for how we were going to communicate to guests, make sure we had a consistent message, how frequently we were going to share updates, and create the message.
